Determination of large polyaromatics in waste waters of DEZA factory
Trefilová, Daniela ; Vávrová, Milada (referee) ; Čáslavský, Josef (advisor)
Large polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons with molecular mass exceeding 278 Da are rarely object of study, in spite of the fact that some compounds from this group are proved carcinogens. These compounds belong to the group of persistent organic compounds and they are considered as dangerous environmental contaminants. Diploma thesis is focused on the evaluation of the occurence of large PAHs in technological and waste waters produced in black pitch processing in the DEZA Valašské Meziříčí factory. The method of their analysis based on reversed-phase liquid chromatography with non-aqueous gradient; UV-VIS and fluorescence detection will be used. This method will enable the study of changes of large PAHs distribution at various stages of waste water treatment process.
Reuse of wastewater in multifunctional buldings
Skřička, Jakub ; Úterský, Michal (referee) ; Hlavínek, Petr (advisor)
This diploma thesis presents reader with current knowledge in the field of gray wastewater reuse. The theoretical part describes the current state of water in the world, thus characterizes wastewater and describes its treatment. Further, this section describes the possibility of obtaining thermal energy from wastewater. At the end of the theoretical part, the reader is presented with some existing buildings in the Czech Republic that use the wastewater re-use technology system. In the following practical part, all the knowledge from the theoretical part are applied for a concrete project of construction of a graywater re-use technology system in the area of Vlněna in Brno city.
Intensification of the wastewater treatment plant in the village Krumsín
Krejsová, Věra ; Ježek, Jiří (referee) ; Hluštík, Petr (advisor)
The task of this master thesis was assessment of the possibility of intensification of biological ponds, which are used for wastewater treatment, and subsequent application of selected systems to the existing wastewater treatment plant in the village Krumsin in the district Prostejov, including economic assessment. In the first part of the master thesis, I worked up the available options for the intensification of biological ponds. In the practical part of the thesis it was prepared a report of the current state of the wastewater treatment plant that serving as a basis for the design of intensification, which is also processed in the practical part. For the proposed variants of intensification was also processed economic assessment.
Reuse of treated wastewater in paper and textile industry
Matysíková, Jana ; Vachovec, Roman (referee) ; Hlavínek, Petr (advisor)
This thesis deals with Advanced oxidation processes (AOP) and its aplication for textile wastewaters treatment and reuse. AOP is a modern technology which currently recieves increased attention due to it´s high efficiency in removing resistant and hardly-degradable pollution. Thesis consists of search and practical part. Search part is created by three chapters. First chapter describe briefly wastewater reuse. The second chapter deals with Advanced oxidation processes. AOP principle, AOP division and descriotion is included with the strong focus on the ozonation technology. The third chapter presents the textile industry and its wastewaters. The practical part of this thesis consists of two chapters. Chapter 5 describes testing of textile wastewaters decoloration by ozonation in the selected textile copany and its results. This results are used in chapter 6. Chapter 6 is the study of textile industry treatment and reuse in the selected textile company. This study contains the design of two options for wastewater treatment and reuse in the textile processes.
Alternative water sources on technological process in selected sector of industry
Bártů, Tomáš ; Mifková,, Tatiana (referee) ; Hluštík, Petr (advisor)
The task of the master’s thesis is a study focused on re-use and process wastewater in the company Kostelecké uzeniny a.s. The thesis contains a description of wastewater treatment plants, sewage flow and metabolic load on each water treatment processes. The thesis describes the limit requirements for technological processes within the enterprise. Few variants of the use of alternative water sources for technological processes on the basis of health conditions that has been designed for treating waste water from truck wash were considered in the thesis. Treated waste water is being re-used within the truck wash. Part of the proposal is also economic calculation and evaluation of return on investment.
The study of realization of the constructed treatment wetland for Jankovice village
Ujházy, Adriana ; Mrvová, Michaela (referee) ; Pumprlová Němcová, Miroslava (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with a study of the constructed wetland in the village Jankovice (Holesov), where they has not had a treatment plant yet. The first part of bachelor thesis is focused on informations and research studies, introducing to problems of constructed wetlands. In this part the the principles of technology are explained and the individual treatment stages in wetland are described. The second part of thesis describes the design study of the wastewater treatment plant in Jankovice u Holesova. It includes information about the village and a proposal of the individual treatment processes. The design study assumes two variants of the constructed treatment wetland location, at the end is recommended one of them. According to the current standard, the individual technological stages of wetland are pre-designed, financial costs are also estimated. The whole solution is drawn in the situation and completed by a height technical drawing. The aim of this thesis is to propose a properly functioning root waste water treatment plant for the municipality of up to 500 PE.
Winery wastewater treatment
Horňák, David ; Procházková, Michaela (referee) ; Touš, Michal (advisor)
Wastewater management is a current topic for wineries, as wastewater treatment accounts for a large part of operating costs. Currently, technologies based on biological processes are mostly used to treat wastewater from wineries. However, these have a number of drawbacks, such as higher investment and operating costs, a large footprint or the requirement for the necessary technical knowledge of the operators. This paper deals with the selection of an economically less demanding technology for the treatment of winery wastewater and the experimental assessment of its efficiency with respect to the removal of chemical oxygen demand (COD). Photo-Fenton oxidation was selected based on a thorough literature search. The Box-Behnken design was used to design of the experiment. Based on the experiment, the optimum operating conditions were found to be temperature 25 °C, pH 3, Fe2+ ion amount 20,2 mg/l, H2O2/Fe2+ ratio 64 and reaction time 3 h. The achievable COD removal efficiency is 11,8 %, which is not consistent with the values reported in the literature. The main reason for the low efficiency could be the insufficient intensity of the UV radiation used. Further research could build on the optimal conditions found and address the shortcomings of this experiment.
Autonomous Power Supply for Sewerage Plant
Böserle, Otomar ; Dřínovský, Jiří (referee) ; Šebesta, Jiří (advisor)
The semester project called “The Autonomous System of Sewage Disposal Plant” seeks possible ways of using natural energy resources for purifying waste-water in areas without an l.v. access. We offer a possible solution in the form of fotovoltaic panels and we have also tried to find a compromise between the price and the sustainability of the system. Furthermore, we have designed circuits which could power the plant. We believe that after necessary tests and following adjustments the system could be used commercially. The part of the complete design dealing with gaining and accumulation of electrical energy could be used for other purposes too, e.g. for electrification of remote recreational areas.
